Passport and Czech Visa

Passports

All nationals except EU nationals holding a valid national ID card require passport valid for at least three months beyond length of stay. Some EU nationals may be required to present a valid passport in addition to a national ID card.

Czech Visa

EU nationals do not require any visa for any type of visit or stay in the Czech Republic. Citizens of the United States, Canada and Mexico are not required to have a visa for a period up to 90 days. Visas are required for work and stays exceeding 90 days. Other nationals can check requirements with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Getting a work visa is not an issue for the short-term. Getting a work visa for over 90 days stay becomes more complicated and takes anywhere from three to six months. Although like everything in the Czech Republic, there is a lot of paperwork involved. Different rules apply to EU citizens and to others.
