Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a Corporate Training Manager to support our operations team. This position will directly support training and leadership programs for current and future employees. The role is responsible for collaborating across the organization to develop key training programs for growing departments. Accommodations for HYBRID and REMOTE WORK arrangements will be considered.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development and implementation of effective training materials, documents, and programs for the operations team. This includes training needs assessment, course outline preparation, development of lesson plans and presentation training aids, administer exams, and course evaluations.
  • Verify training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and the industries our team supports.
  • Mentors, instructs, and/or trains training team members to best support operations team in developing and executing training programs.
  • Responsible for developing roadmaps for all operations training programs and emerging leadership program.
  • Collaborates with vendors, schools, and universities to build talent pipelines into the training programs.
  • Ensures training milestones and goals are met, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinates training sessions and maintains training facilities, equipment, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Responsible for tracking and providing direct feedback on trainee progress through training program.
  • Supports design quality reviews and provides feedback to design teams for improvements.
  • Work is primarily office based but fieldwork may be needed throughout the training engineering design process.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight or for extended periods of time, based on training and development needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required with 15+ years of experience in corporate training programs.
  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Communications or related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge and experience in developing organizational training programs.
  • Must be an organized person who can keep data organized.
  • Computer proficiency including general Microsoft Office products, design, and business enterprise software.
  • Effective written and oral communication at all levels within an organizational structure
  • Reasoning skills and ability to solve practical problems
  • Must have dependable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance
  • Ability to work from home and an office setting, as required
  • Familiar with Design and Checking practices for engineering drawings and deliverables
  • Familiar with Safe Work Practices and PPE applications
  • Travel to company office or client locations, as needed to support training efforts.
  • This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with utility or industrial operations training programs.
