Job Description
The expected salary range for this position is $78,220.00 – $97,760.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Overview
In this Financial Analyst position, you will be a trusted financial partner supporting your assigned teams and the ministry by providing financial data, reports and recommendations. Further, you will prepare annual budgets and ongoing forecasts to assist with the ministry’s financial planning. You will analyze data including trends in expenses and other areas of business, providing leadership and expertise through financial analysis for management’s issue. Using seasoned financial knowledge, you will create financial models of “what if” scenarios for future business planning decisions. You may coach other analysts and related staff.
What Will You Do?
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
- Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
- Provide month-end reporting for the ministry and assigned teams, including financials, staff, compensation, capital and other ad-hoc reporting as needed. Ensure extreme accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Prepare the annual budget and mid-year forecasts for assigned teams. Gather inputs from all stakeholders, organize and analyze the data, and prepare it for approval and administration.
- Serve as a key business partner to assigned teams, ensuring financial viability and accountability is built into all programs and processes at Compassion.
- Collaborate with the Financial Systems Team to ensure Adaptive / OfficeConnect data and reporting accuracy.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of economic trends and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects and processes as well as updating management and colleagues to assure successful and effective financial planning.
- Consult with all information users to create and publish data reports, providing analytics for effective operation of the ministry. Ensuring extreme accuracy, consistency, and timeliness is a key component of this requirement.
- Work individually and cross-functionally on teams to conduct financial analysis projects such as creating financial models of “what if” scenarios for future planning decisions.
- Evaluate and analyze issues such as capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, operating records, and financial statements.
- May coach other financial analysts and related staff concerning technical finance issues.
What Do You Bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 7+ years of relevant finance experience in a corporate environment
- Experience with Adaptive and OfficeConnect is preferred
