Ireland job search sounds like an adventure to many people. Job search in Ireland involves more than the Ireland visa application and just the obvious Ireland cover letter and Ireland CV writing and translation - they require careful preparation for the Ireland job interview. You will face problems that in all probability did not even cross your mind when you become interested in jobs in Ireland.
Do not take too lightly the influence the Ireland visa can have on the effect of your adventure! For instance, you will experience the different immigration rules and practices, strange job application procedures, unfamiliar job candidate selection criteria and out of the ordinary management culture.
Most visits to Ireland are trouble-free but you should be aware of the risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers like restaurants, hotels, clubs and shopping areas. You should exercise a high degree of caution due to a deteriorating security situation.
Criminal activity, as well as demonstrations and occasional protests, remain a concern throughout the country. In recent years, the Irish authorities have carried out a number of investigations and operations against drug-related crimes and terrorist networks.
Monitor local news broadcasts and consular messages. Ensure that your travel documents and visas are current, valid and secured in a safe place. Carry a photocopy of your travel documents in lieu of the originals. Maintain a low profile, vary times and routes of travel, and exercise caution while driving. Making local contacts quickly and seeking support from other expatriates will greatly increase your comfort and safety.
Passport and Ireland Visa
All nationals except EU nationals holding a valid national ID card require a passport valid for at least three months beyond the length of stay. Some EU nationals may be required to present a valid passport in addition to a national ID card. The imposition of a return ticket as a condition of entry is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer at the point of entry.
Visa requirements depend upon the foreign individual’s citizenship and his or her intended length of stay in Ireland. All nationals do not require visas for the following durations:
• For an unlimited period by nationals of EU countries, (nationals of EU countries wishing to stay for longer than three months must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau).
• For stays of up to 90 days by nationals of Australia, Canada and the USA.
Vaccinations are not required.
