In your first year with TI, you will participate in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which provides professional and technical training and resources to accelerate your ramp into TI and set you up for long-term career success. Within this program, we also offer function-specific technical training and on-the-job learning opportunities that will encourage you to solve problems through a variety of hands-on, meaningful experiences from your very first day on the job.
Applications Engineers at Texas Instruments (TI) are a highly-motivated, synergistic group with great team spirit and a strong commitment to the customer. In this role, you will promote TI products and provide technical solutions to customers that will ultimately go into consumer products like smartphones, PC peripherals, personal medical devices, electric cars, e-bikes and much more. You'll also provide technical support and engage with customers to help define new products and opportunities for future product development.
Our applications engineers engage with customers virtually and in person to help solve their toughest technical challenges. Understand customer's needs, develop end equipment expertise, help define our products and be part of what's next! You will work on an applications team in one of TI's product lines to gain a deep understanding of specific products within the business unit - how to position them, typical problems/barriers, how to test/debug and how to solve customer problems at a system level. These experiences are hands-on, technical problem-solving focused with the goal of helping you to create compelling solutions and win business for TI.
As an Applications Engineer, you will also get exposure to other roles such as: Product Marketing, Systems& Digital Marketing through formal learning, projects and on-the-job development experiences that will help you broaden your knowledge and accelerate your growth and success at TI.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Working with Automotive Tier 1s and OEMs to design and implement next generation wireless connectivity applications in Car Access, TPMS and WBMS.
- →Direct, high-volume technical customer support through Sales and FAE collaboration and on-site as required for critical engagements
- →Work with systems engineers to provide support to early design in activities for new products
- →Provides inputs for future product development based on customer application specifications and market trends
- →Collaboration with hardware and software design teams to support customer needs, implement custom features in FW, build/design/document/test application hardware/software solutions
- →Providing support through forum and direct customer contact, design review of customer applications and resolution of customer issues by re-creating/debugging to root-cause
- →Accelerating customer development process by ensuring that customers’ technical requirements are met and problems resolved.
- →Creating collateral like application notes, software documentation, trainings and webinars for enabling a broad customer base for TI.
- →Promote TI products and providing appropriate technical solutions to customers to solve their design challenges
- →Design build and develop end equipment specific demonstrations for OEMs/Tier 1s, tradeshows, etc to demonstrate value proposition and differentiation
- →Bring up new hardware, system level debugging and code optimization
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
- Programming skills in C
- Basic understanding of RTOS (Realtime Operation System)
- Experience with lab equipment, like oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
