We are seeking a Contract Manager to join our in-house legal team to support the contract management process within the legal department.
Reporting to our Manager, Senior Legal Counsel, you will be working closely with the Commercial Legal team, as well as the Sales and Finance teams, and other stakeholders throughout our organization.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US, though some travel may be required from time to time.
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field.
2 - 5 years’ experience in contract management in a corporate/legal environment.
Strong understanding of contract law, legal principles, and contract management best practices.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including responsiveness, clear and effective communication skills, and ability to form strong relationships with internal teams.
Ability to work unsupervised to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in procurement and CLM softwares, G-Suite and MS Office Suite.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Willingness and ability to learn about new laws and concepts, internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Written and oral English language fluency.
Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CCM, CPCM), or experience in a scaling SaaS company, is a plus.
Draft, review, and revise contracts, including but not limited to, sales agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and vendor agreements.
Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks and liabilities.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external parties to achieve favorable outcomes while protecting the interests of the company.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as procurement, sales, and finance teams, to address contractual issues and reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related inquiries and issues.
Collaborate with legal counsel, procurement, sales, and other departments to streamline contract processes and enhance efficiency.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $93,000 USD and $130,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $86,000 CAD and $120,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
