Quick Summary
About 1X We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not.
We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not.
To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you’re inspired by this, you’ll thrive here. We’ve been at this since 2014 and we’re at a point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us.
NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We’re not demoing it - we’re shipping it. We’re excited to meet you, if this excites you.
If you’ve spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.
The Structural Dynamics & Validation team plays a critical role in ensuring 1X robots can operate reliably, quietly, and safely in real-world environments. We combine advanced simulation, testing, and cross-functional engineering collaboration to improve durability, control stability, and product performance across the robot platform. This team sits at the intersection of hardware, controls, and systems engineering, directly shaping the reliability and user experience of next-generation humanoid robotics.
Own the structural dynamics and validation strategy for robotic subsystems by translating operational requirements into validated engineering models and test methodologies. This role is critical to 1X’s ability to deliver robust, high-performing robots by ensuring designs meet demanding requirements for shock, vibration, durability, and control stability throughout the product lifecycle.
Define and maintain statistically significant load cases that accurately represent real-world robotic operating conditions across critical sub-assemblies.
Deliver validated shock and vibration models that correlate with physical test data and remain aligned with rapid design iterations.
Improve product durability, NVH performance, and control stability through structural dynamics analysis and cross-functional design feedback.
Lead structural validation activities from instrumentation strategy through data acquisition, analysis, and model correlation.
Identify and resolve structural dynamics issues contributing to instability, vibration, or acoustic noise in robotic systems.
