Chief Financial Officer - Bio-nAbler (Bharat Medicare)
Quick Summary
**This is not a role with 2070 Health** Chief Financial Officer (alternatively, Director – Finance,
(alternatively, Director – Finance, Compliance & Risk)
Portfolio: Bharat Medicare | A Bio-nAbler Company
About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking a highly capable, entrepreneurial finance leader to build and lead the finance, compliance, and risk function for Bharat Medicare. This is not a caretaker controllership role — it is a build mandate. The finance function today is nascent and has historically depended on external auditors for periodic accounts. You will own the transformation into a disciplined, insight-generating function producing timely monthly management accounts, robust controls, and investor-grade reporting.
The role sits at the intersection of finance leadership, strategy, and capital markets. You will be the financial face of the company to private equity sponsors and the Board, partnering closely with the CEO, the Chief Strategy Officer, and Bio-nAbler leadership to scale Bharat into a leading pan-India healthcare platform.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Build the finance function from its current base into a scalable, controls-driven organization capable of supporting a high-growth, multi-entity healthcare platform.
- Establish a disciplined monthly close process, delivering P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements reviewed by mid-month of the following period.
- Own the chart of accounts, ERP (Odoo) implementation and adoption, monthly bank reconciliations, and end-to-end accounting operations (OTC, AR, AP, RTR).
- Institute robust internal controls, month-end governance, and audit-ready processes across Bharat and Strata Meditech.
- Build engagement-level, client-wise, and site-wise profitability reporting that turns financial data into operational insight.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and the annual operating plan, presenting actuals versus plan to leadership and the Board each month.
- Drive ARPU, margin, and cost-to-serve analytics to inform pricing, contract repricing, and service-line expansion decisions.
- Serve as the financial face of the company to private equity sponsors and prospective investors — presenting with credibility, clarity, and command of the numbers.
- Prepare investor-grade reporting, data rooms, and board materials; support diligence, follow-on rounds, and eventual exit (M&A or IPO).
- Vet commercial agreements, shareholding and share purchase agreements, and lead negotiations with vendors and financing partners.
- Own statutory compliance, tax, and regulatory reporting across all entities, ensuring the group remains audit-ready and investor-ready at all times.
- Establish an enterprise risk framework covering financial, operational, and regulatory risk in a healthcare-services context.
- Support board governance, including secretarial and compliance coordination, and act as a trusted steward of financial integrity.
- Partner with the CEO and CSO on business strategy, M&A evaluation, financial modelling, and value-creation initiatives.
- Bring an operator's mindset to working capital discipline, cash flow optimization, and margin expansion (including STRATA-to-BHMC contract conversion).
- Think like both an investor and an operator in shaping the company's path to scale and exit.
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, transitioning capability in-house as external advisory engagements (e.g. finance transformation) conclude.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across operations, clinical, commercial, and technology teams.
- Foster a culture of ownership, rigor, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
~1 min read- Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory.
- MBA from a Tier-1 institute (IIM A/B/C, ISB, or equivalent) — strongly preferred.
- 15+ years in progressive finance leadership, including a genuine CFO or Finance Director mandate with full-function ownership.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare services, hospitals, or life sciences — an understanding of how healthcare economics and delivery actually work.
- Proven track record building or transforming a finance function — not merely maintaining one — including ERP implementation and month-close design.
- Hands-on fundraising and investor-reporting experience with private equity and/or venture sponsors.
- Deep command of FP&A, treasury, controllership, tax, and board governance.
- Comfort operating in a fast-scaling, entrepreneurial, multi-entity environment rather than a large steady-state corporate.
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven, energized by building rather than administering.
- Board- and sponsor-facing presence — able to command a room of financial sponsors and communicate with clarity and conviction.
- A disruptor's instinct for problem-solving, process re-engineering, and cost discipline.
- Strong communicator and natural partner to the CEO, CSO, and investors alike.
- Passionate about transforming healthcare delivery in India.
This is a rare opportunity to build the financial engine of a healthcare platform at an inflection point — with the backing of an experienced investor, a strong founding and strategy team, and a clear path to scale and exit. The right leader will not just report the numbers; they will shape the trajectory of the company and share in the value created.
