Analyst – Legal will be part of the Global Legal Service Center (GLSC) and will perform legal tasks in support of 3M Legal Affairs assisting in various aspects of legal work related to one or more general practice areas, including, but not limited to, Business Counsel, Employment and Benefits, and Legal Operations. This position will report to the GLSC Multiple Pillar Lead and work closely with the GLSC Multiple Pillar Lead and respective stakeholders. The Analyst-Legal is an experienced legal professional with foundational knowledge of corporate legal practice and multi-regional stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities

- Review a variety of business materials, documents, and communications to ensure alignment with established guidelines, standards, and processes
- Identify potential issues, gaps, or areas that may require clarification, revision, or additional review
- Exercise sound judgment in routine matters and escalate more complex issues as needed
- Support a range of administrative, operational, and cross-functional activities, including document handling, information tracking, and process coordination
- Assist with data compilation, reporting, and maintenance of workflow records or related documentation
- Contribute to process improvement efforts and support the adoption of technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools where appropriate
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials
- Minimum 4 years of experience in general legal services or in‑house legal support
- Strong legal judgment with the ability to apply rules, playbooks, and precedents consistently
- High attention to detail and comfort with high‑volume, repeatable work
- Strong written communication skills and ability to explain issues clearly and concisely
- Ability to learn new subject matter, tools, and processes quickly and manage projects efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders
Requirements

- Comfort in working with legal technology, workflow tools, and AI‑enabled review systems
- Additional legal certifications or relevant continuing legal education
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
