Retail Safety Manager

• →Provide clear and practical consumer protection, food safety, and health and safety advice to senior leaders
• →Develop, implement, and maintain policies and processes that are compliant with food regulations
• →Monitor and manage risks, interpreting and anticipating legislative changes and proactively addressing these
• →Deliver training and guidance to food retail and logistics teams, helping to make sure health and safety stays the top priority for everyone
• →Lead investigations into serious incidents, address these appropriately, and put preventative measures in place for future
• →Work closely with local authorities and regulators to understand the latest standards
• →Work with our Primary Authority to develop our Assured Advice model, and collaborate with the FSA as they develop future regulations
• →Use data and monitor trends to spot ways for us to improve how we work
• →Travel to stores and depots across the UK to support investigations or help deliver changes

• Significant experience in an Environmental Health role (e.g., Environmental Health Officer)
• Significant experience acting as a Primary Authority lead in a retail or multi-site environment
• A relevant environmental health qualification (e.g., CIEH Environmental Health)
• Strong knowledge of relevant UK food legislation and compliance standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, with the ability to influence people at all levels of seniority
• The ability to deliver training and coaching to operational teams
