a.i. solutions is seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in analyzing radiation environments, including natural orbital trapped particles, interplanetary conditions, and transient space weather events. Must be proficient in modeling energetic particle environments, assessing geomagnetic and spacecraft shielding, and using tools such as FastRAD and Space Radiation. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in analysis of natural and/or man-made radiation environments; for natural environments, includes experience in natural orbital trapped particle environments (including temporal and spatial variance), the natural Interplanetary environment, transient environments (solar events, coronal mass ejection, space weather, etc.), models for energetic particle environments, and transport of radiation environments including, geomagnetic shielding, and analysis of spacecraft shielding (e.g., FastRAD, Space Radiation). For man-made, includes experience in prompt environment induced transient radiation effects in electronics (TREE), prompt, delayed and persistent neutrons environments and effects, persistent environment and effects, and shielding for prompt environments.
  • Experience in writing or reviewing radiation effects test reports on electronics.
  • Experience in leading engineering efforts for complex weapon systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and processes for operational programs.
  • Experience providing daily supervision and direction to contractor teams.

 

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Master's or PhD degree in physics or engineering from a school with Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) accreditation as professional engineering curriculum.
    • Acceptable Substitute: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 10 years relevant experience in radiation effects in either Aerospace, Defense, and/or medical.
  • Security Clearance requirements: TS/SCI
