Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Monday - Friday 8a-5p with occasional weekends. Clinical ride time variable, including nights and weekends. Once certified, variable 12-hour shifts that may include nights, weekends and holidays.

$18.85 - $28.30

Responsibilities

  • Operates authorized emergency vehicles in emergency and nonemergency situations in compliance with policy and training. 
  • Responds to emergency and nonemergency calls to support patient care and transport under supervision. 
  • Maintains readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies. 
  • Communicates effectively with dispatch, healthcare professionals, and EMS team members. 
  • Completes required documentation, reports, and logs. 
  • Participates in required education, training, and certification activities. 
  • Represents the organization professionally in community and patient interactions.

  • ​​​​​​​​​Valid driver’s license  
  • Ability to obtain EMT certification within defined timeframe 

  • Successful completion of a College-Level English course OR possession of a high school diploma, high school equivalency certificate or successful completion of an exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum of an eleventh-grade level.
  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • No prior EMS experience required   

  • Safe vehicle operation  
  • Communication and teamwork  
  • Situational awareness  
  • Ability to follow protocols and direction  
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions 

Requirements

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of vehicles, machinery and equipment as required to meet the essential job functions of an Emergency Medical Technician. Must be able to exert up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects and people. Physical requirements are for Heavy Work.

  • Experience in customer service, healthcare, or safety sensitive roles preferred

  • Basic medical terminology and concepts (training level)  
  • Familiarity with EMS operations

  • Ability to learn quickly in a structured training environment
