The Outpatient Hand Center at Medical Plaza Miller is seeking a full time occupational therapist to join the hand therapy team. Qualified applicants must have a strong focus on evidence based practice, time management, team communication, and overall patient centered care. Candidates with experience in hand therapy and certification desired. Candidates must also be willing to travel.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.

    • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members. Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.

    • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.

    • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.

    • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient. Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.

    • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance. Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.

    • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.

    • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
