M-F 8AM-4PM on site rotate between Maine East, Maine West and Maine South High Schools.

$33.05 - $49.60

***The address/location for this role is supporting three high schools, rotating between the sites on a daily basis:

  • Maine East ( 2601 Dempster St, Park Ridge, IL 60068 ), Maine West (1755 S Wolf Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018) and Maine South High Schools (1111 S Dee Rd, Park Ridge, IL 60068)

  • The Clinical Therapist for the School Based Health Center (SBHC) will provide counseling services and resource assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning, and maximize the well-being and academic functioning of adolescents who utilize the SBHC. Clinical functions include: individual therapy, screening and assessments for identified families, brief interventions and referral to treatment, coordination with pediatricians, school personnel, community partners and allied therapists, parent education and training, and clinical supervision of social work/counseling students and interns. This role will also assist the APN and Medical Director with administrative duties including preparation of required reporting as well as program expansion/development.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of students seeking care from the School Based Health Center

  • Spearheads interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment planning, bringing expertise to assist in the diagnostic and treatment planning process.

  • Care of adolescent patients presenting with mental, behavioral, addictive or emotional disorders (e.g., psychoses, anxiety disorders, depression, school refusal/anxiety, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, developmental disabilities, sexual dysfunctions and/or adjustment disorders.)

  • Provide consultation in-person or remotely with other care team members as appropriate regarding mental, behavioral or emotional disorders, and the provision of psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, behavior modification in support of the students plan of care.

  • Provides clinical behavioral health oversight and guidance to School Based Health Center

  • Informs Physicians, RN, SW, and Leadership of pertinent clinical information obtained via individual/group therapies or psychosocial assessments.

  • Maintains professional standards and responsibilities for his/her own professional practice according to medical group, department, and state regulations.

  • Utilizes clinical skills to promote patient and family satisfaction.

  • Provides documentation of all casework activities per school/department standards.

  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, violent patient behavior, chemicals, electrical equipment and hazards associated with their use.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.

  • Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
