Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Major Responsibilities: Manages Security Operations Centers which provide expert monitoring of security systems to include surveillance, alarms (e.g. duress, burglary, abduction, etc.), and intercoms, receipt of service calls, dispatching officers, documenting incidents, maintaining command and control of Public Safety operations, and response to emergencies.
- →The Manager ensures that staff are qualified and prepared to perform their duties, processes are sound, procedures are followed, and response meets service level agreements.
- →Plans, directs, implements, and continually improves a comprehensive security program to protect people, information, and property in assigned locations, detect incidents when they occur, and react swiftly.
- →Leads and participates in sensitive and complicated investigations of accidents, thefts, injuries, and other incidents.? Leads team members and contractors to compassionately and effectively perform their duties.
- →Performs human resources responsibilities such as interview and selection of new team members, promotions, development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of team member concerns, corrective actions, and overall morale.
- →Evaluates service needs, risks, and vulnerabilities regularly and makes appropriate adjustments. Develops, implements, evaluates, and continuously improves public safety operations that incorporates effective technical, operational, procedural, and physical/structural components.
- →Ensures that the Centers work efforts are documented in accordance with requirements.
- →Collects, reviews, and analyzes operational and performance metrics to make informed decisions and monitor quality.
- →Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with executive team, department/unit directors and managers, physicians, team members, law enforcement, and first responders.
- →Participates in planning committees, serves as an expert resource for consultation, and rounds on internal customers.
- →Develops security awareness and a sense of site ownership among team members.
- →Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- →Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Behaviors and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.
- Driver license issued by the state of Illinois, or Driver license issued by the state of Wisconsin
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.
- 5 years of experience in public safety, security, dispatch, operations center, or law enforcement department.
- Expert knowledge in security and public safety practices, procedures, and state/federal compliance.
- Effective written and oral communication, general administrative, and leadership skills.
- Conducting complex investigations, possesses critical thinking and analytic skills.
- Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
- Working knowledge of security systems such as video surveillance, access control, pediatric abduction alarm systems, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgement and sound reasoning while maintaining calm, courteous, and tactful demeanor in dealing with team members, patients, and visitors.
- Demonstrated experience in quickly and accurately assessing dangerous and stressful situations and taking appropriate action
Requirements
~1 min read- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions. Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. Must lift up to 35 lbs occasionally. Ability to defend self and/or others. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards. Protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
