About the Role
~1 min readWe are seeking an experienced System Thermal-Hydraulics Analyst to support advanced nuclear system analysis and safety evaluations. The successful candidate will perform detailed system-level thermal-hydraulic modeling and contribute to analysis supporting reactor design, safety margins, and transient/accident behavior.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop, execute, and maintain system thermal-hydraulic models using RELAP5-3D code.
- →Perform steady-state and transient analyses for nuclear systems, including normal operation, off-normal events, and accident scenarios.
- →Interpret and document analytical results to support licensing, design decisions, and safety assessments.
- →Collaborate with reactor designers, safety analysts, and experimental teams to support integrated system evaluations.
- →Participate in code verification, validation, and benchmarking activities against experiments or operating data.
- →Prepare high-quality technical reports, analysis documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
~1 min read- MSc in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience performing analyses with system thermal-hydraulic codes such as RELAP5 / RELAP5-3D, and/or TRACE.
- Strong understanding of single and two-phase flow, heat transfer, and nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex analysis tasks.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience supporting DOE, NRC, or national laboratory projects.
- Familiarity with model development best practices and QA requirements for safety-related analysis.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts.
