Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $19–$23/hr

Abound Health has an urgent need for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support an individual in the New Wilmington area who requires high-level personal care, full assistance with transfers, and consistent supervision. This role is ideal for caregivers with strong lifting capability and experience supporting individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs. Caregivers seeking additional hours may take on shifts with other clients once hired.

Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a DSP, you will provide essential hands-on support to ensure safety, comfort, and daily functioning. Responsibilities include:
• Provide full assistance with transfers and mobility (non-ambulatory client)
• Support all personal care needs, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene
• Monitor health and safety, especially related to seizure activity
• Assist with tube-feeding for all food and medications
• Support communication using an iPad, picture selection, and non-verbal cues
• Maintain a calm, structured environment and provide medium-level behavioral support
• Document services and communicate with Abound team members and families
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
This referral requires 10 hours per week
Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Caregivers may take on additional hours with other clients if they desire a fuller schedule.

Requirements
~1 min read• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Comfortable providing high-level personal care
• Ability to lift and perform full-assist transfers (required)
• Willingness to support tube-feeding and medical routines (training provided)
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.
Starting Pay: $19–$23 per hour
(Compensation varies based on experience and service type)
