We are currently searching for a CEI Inspector Trainee to support our Mid Atlantic Region located in Hazelton, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Will perform a range of routine and standardized work including, but not limited to, manual and/or electronic calculations, computations, and inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract
  • Will inspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course
  • Will perform a variety of simple materials sampling, inspection and/or testing
  • Will perform contract administrative duties, which may include field measurements of pay item quantities, project close-out, as well as other Department required documentation
  • Will transport materials test samples from job sites to contracted laboratory sites

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some knowledge of surveying, highway construction or design
  • General knowledge of mathematical functions, skill in the use of office equipment such as a calculator
  • Ability to read and interpret such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and immediate ability to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required
  • Preference for one (1) year transportation experience
  • Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
  • If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
