Warehouse Inventory Clerk

Specialising in premium pet foods and accessories, Absolute Pets is the leading pet retailer in South Africa with over 190 stores across the country.

Our Gauteng Warehouse team is looking for an Inventory Clerk to join the Absolute Pets team at our warehouse in Kempton Park.

Responsibilities and Primary Functions:

• Assist inventory controller through accurate and efficient execution of daily stock counts and investigations and submit a detailed report to management
• Execute weekly counts accurately and investigate variances and submit a detailed report to management
• Ensure that damages are processed and taken out of the system as required
• Minimise stock losses by packing and preparing the damages aisle and ensure that stock is moving out of the warehouse to the intended destination – Work with stock controller
• Investigate no stock picks and inform controller of discrepancies that need to be adjusted
• Investigate stock with negative balances or items requiring overrides and inform stock controller of discrepancies that need to be adjusted
• Investigate stock in the sin bin and inform controller of discrepancies that need to be adjusted
• Ensure that replenishment is happening efficiently to avoid no stock picks by investigating no stock picks
• Execute expiry checks as agreed with management and identify items that are short dated that need to be pushed to stores
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met daily – Daily department handovers and regular updates as agreed with the inventory controller
• Conduct root cause analysis on variances – Provide clear and concise reports to validate variances

Responsibilities and Secondary Functions:

• Spot checks on inbound stock to identify any discrepancies
• Ensure that the warehouse is properly housekept, and any issues reported to management
• Daily and weekly floor walks to identify issues with bin locations, stock assignments and general storage issues
• Look for opportunities to improve bin assignment and stock allocations in the warehouse
• Contribute to achievement of warehouse KPIs
