JANITORIAL CONTRACT WORKER - JANITORIAL SERVICES

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 11a-3p  (12 hours) Rate: $20.45   Individuals with a disability are strongly encouraged to apply as this is a NYSID contract.   OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:   This position will be responsible for the cleaning of a office building in the Poughkeepsie area. Quality assurance, maintaining overhead costs, and ensuring high customer service standards are the major tasks associated with this position. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:   Floor Care (knowledge of scrubbers or auto-buffers a plus) Cleaning of restrooms Window cleaning Removing of trash and recyclables Vacuuming & Dusting Possible snow removal   ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:   Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor   QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES: Previous custodial or janitorial experience Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task Good customer service skills Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to function as part of a cohesive team     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   Previous cleaning experience required   PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:   Capable of walking between buildings to get to other locations Must be capable of standing for several hours Must be able to moving arms back and forth in a “mopping” motion Must be able to lift >20 lbs Must be able to climb stairs Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations
