Assistant Financial Controller

We are now accepting applications for the following position:
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and maintenance of internal controls over all areas of the hotel’s operations and accounting department.
• Manage accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
• Prepare financial reports and ledger reviews.
• Create and post journal entries.
• Prepare electronic banking payment runs and cheque runs.
• Coordinate accounting activities, to include monthly closing and account reconciliations, and attend departmental meetings to maintain effective working relationships with the operations department and staff
• Supervise and develop a small team, including coaching, counselling, and disciplining
• Review and approve the Income audit daily and ensure that critical operational procedures are accomplished daily to include credit card reconciliation and transmission, daily deposits, cash short/over reporting, bank audits, allowances, and paid outs.
• Perform first-line IT support to assist hotel departments, and escalate to IT specialists, where appropriate, to maintain an effective IT general control environment. Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and professionally.
• Support operational decision-making with financial insights
• Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and hotel financial operations.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical ability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT troubleshooting knowledge
• Previous experience in hospitality finance or similar environment
Salary Range: US$75,000 -US$85,000 per annum
Benefits: In accordance with CI Labour Act
Location: Palm Heights, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
