JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Michigan City, IN • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 10/01/2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Emergency Department Patients • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 17,000 annual ED visits • Admissions: As clinically indicated • Case Mix: Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 15 Emergency Department Beds • Trauma Level: TBD • EMR System: Modern EMR with streamlined charting workflows • Office Equipment Available: Standard Emergency Department Resources • Specialty Backup Available: Dependable Specialty Support • Support Staff Available: APC Support (10 Hours Daily) • Physician Coverage: 24 Hours Daily • Hospital Beds: 103 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: TBD • Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency Medicine Procedures • Patient Stabilization and Resuscitation • Acute Illness and Injury Management JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Indiana Medical License or Ability to Obtain • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine • Active DEA • BLS, ACLS, and PALS • Emergency Medicine Experience (Preferred) • Other Qualifications: Strong Clinical Decision-Making and Procedural Skills; MD or DO from an Accredited Medical School DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Evaluate, Diagnose, and Treat Emergency Department Patients • Perform Emergency Procedures as Clinically Indicated • Collaborate with APCs and Consulting Specialists • Complete Accurate and Timely Medical Documentation • Deliver High-Quality Patient Care in a Team-Based Environment
