JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Abbeville, LA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: ASAP – 12 to 18 months • Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a – 6p; 6p – 6a PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 45 patients per day • Admissions: 8% • Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 7 ED beds; 3 Fast Track beds • EMR System: Cerner Community Works • Office Equipment Available: Standard ED equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Podiatry, Surgery • Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (clean file required) • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency Medicine procedures • Moderate sedation • Critical care management JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active LA license, DEA, and CDS required • Board: BC/BE in EM/FM/IM with Emergency Medicine experience • DEA: Required • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS required if not ABEM certified • Experience: Residency trained in EM/FM/IM required • Other Qualifications: CME and case logs required; LA PCF required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency department coverage • Evaluate and treat acute and critical patients • Manage patient flow in ED setting • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
