JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Gastroenterology Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Ephrata, PA • Service Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center and Hospital • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Coverage, Procedures, Rounding, and Call • Coverage Period: June 1, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Endoscopy Center shifts 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with additional inpatient rounding, ED support, outpatient/inpatient procedures, and call coverage COVERAGE DATES • Endoscopy Center Coverage: • June 1, 2, 29, 30 • July 1, 6, 10, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 • August 3, 5, 24 • September 1, 2, 21, 22 • October 2 • Inpatient Rounding / ED Support / Call / Procedures Coverage: • July 24 at 5:00 PM – August 7 at 7:00 AM • August 28 at 5:00 PM – September 4 at 5:00 PM • November 20 at 5:00 PM – November 30 at 7:00 AM • December 21 at 7:00 AM – December 24 at 5:00 AM • December 28 at 7:00 AM – December 31 at 5:00 PM PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult Patients (18+) • Patient Volume/Census: • Approximately 10–12 inpatient encounters daily • Approximately 2–4 consults daily • Approximately 6 outpatient procedures daily • Additional add-on procedures as needed • Case Mix: General Gastroenterology patients requiring outpatient procedures, inpatient consults, rounding, and GI procedures FACILITY INFORMATION • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center • Hospital Bed Size: 130 Beds • EMR System: Epic • Support Staff Available: No APP support in hospital • Department Description: Outpatient procedures, inpatient rounding, consults, ED support, and inpatient procedures PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Available for providers with clean files • Credentialing Timeline: Expedited temporary privileges available with clean credentialing file COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General Gastroenterology Procedures • Outpatient Endoscopy Procedures • Inpatient GI Consults and Procedures • Hospital Rounding and ED Support JOB REQUIREMENTS • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology • Licenses: Active Pennsylvania License or IMLC LOQ required for submission • DEA: Required • Certifications Required: Licensed Gastroenterologist • Experience: Must be comfortable working independently in the hospital setting • Skills Required: General Gastroenterology experience DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform outpatient endoscopy procedures in the ambulatory surgery center • Provide inpatient rounding, GI consults, and emergency department support • Perform inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology procedures • Manage and coordinate patient care independently within the hospital setting • Complete accurate documentation within Epic EMR • Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity and quality patient care
