JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: New Ulm, MN • Service Setting: Hospital / Outpatient Oncology Clinic • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Coverage Only • Coverage Period: 09/14/2026 – 13 Weeks • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: September 14, 2026 • Assignment Length: 13 Weeks • Coverage Need: Part-Time, 2–3 Shifts per Week • No Call Required PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All Ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 11–16 Patients per Day • Admissions: Inpatient Collaboration as Needed • Case Mix: Solid Tumors, Hematologic Malignancies, Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, and Oncology Supportive Therapies FACILITY INFORMATION • Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital • Hospital Size: 686 Beds • EMR System: Epic • Specialty Backup Available: Hematologist/Oncologists, Infusion Teams, Oncology Research Staff, Nurse Navigators, Social Workers, Dietitians, Palliative Care, Genetic Counseling, Radiology, and Laboratory Services • Support Staff Available: Oncology Nurse Navigator, Clinic RNs, LPNs/CMAs, Infusion Nurses, Oncology Research Nurse, Financial Counselors, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation Services, and Oncology Provider Coordinators PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Fingerprinting Required: Yes • Credentialing Requirements: Active Minnesota License Required COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (if applicable) • Orientation: 4 Hours (Non-Billable) REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Outpatient Hematology and Oncology Patient Management • Evaluation and Treatment of Solid Tumor and Hematologic Conditions • Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Management • Oncology Supportive Care Services • Coordination of Multidisciplinary Cancer Care JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Minnesota License Required • Board: Certified Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) • DEA: As Required by Facility • Certifications: As Required by Facility • Experience: Hematology/Oncology Experience Preferred • EMR Experience: Epic Preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies • Provide outpatient oncology and hematology care • Collaborate with hematologist/oncologists and multidisciplinary care teams • Coordinate patient treatment plans and follow-up care • Document all encounters accurately within Epic EMR • Participate in inpatient collaboration as clinically indicated • Support continuity of care through coordination with infusion, research, navigation, and support services • Ensure compliance with facility policies and quality standards
