JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Infectious Disease Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM On-Call Shift Schedule: Beeper call; evenings as needed 5 pm Fredericksburg on-call provider takes over call for new consults Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: Variable Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: Variable Rounding: Yes Phone Consults: Variable FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Trauma Level: IIPRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No PROCEDURES Required Microscopic specimen evaluation Management of vascular access devises/central venous catheters Familiarity with intravenous medications Central line placement Intrathecal administration of anti-infective agents JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Eligible Licenses: VA Certifications: BLS Fellowship: Preferred Duties & Responsibilities Provide inpatient infectious disease consultations and follow-up care Cover new consults from 8am to 5pm Round on assigned inpatients both for consult and primary service Hand off new consults to Fredericksburg on-call provider at end of shift Document all patient encounters in Epic EMR
