JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Santa Cruz, CA Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 24-hour call; 7:30a – 7:30a Call Type: In-House Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered PATIENT INFORMATION Deliveries: 1.5/day (45–55/month) FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Specialty Backup Available: Perinatology, Neonatology Support Staff Available: Ultrasonographer, 24/7 Anesthesia (10 MDs) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Vaginal deliveries C-sections (provider must assist) No abortions or postpartum tubal ligations (except during C-sections) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE Licenses: Active CA License DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience: Recent/current laborist experience required Other Qualifications: Clean background NPDB report Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour in-house hospital call coverage for the OB/GYN department Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections (assist required) Triage and manage OB ED (Obstetric Emergency Department) patients Monitor patients on Pitocin, remaining onsite for the entire call shift Assist with urgent GYN surgeries as needed while on-call
