JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Richland, WA 99352 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 24‑hour in‑house call shifts, 5‑8 shifts per month On‑Call Shift Schedule: Same as shift schedule (24‑hour in‑house call) Call Type: In-House Call Ratio: TBD Call Response Time: On site Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Vendor PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult and adolescent female patients Average Daily Volume: 25 patients/day Admissions: TBD Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Emergent OB/GYN cases from the ED – hysterectomy, ectopic pregnancy, D&C, ovarian cystectomy, hysteroscopy, IUD insertions, abscess, post‑hysterectomy complications, exploratory laparotomy FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: 5 midwives support MD providers on Labor & Delivery Support Staff: RNs: TBD, MAs: TBD, PA/NPs: 13, Office Staff: TBD PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Low risk pregnancy High risk pregnancy FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE OB Ultrasounds - Performance of, interpretation Routine delivery Vaginal Low forceps Decision-making for c-section Complicated delivery C-section Breech Multiple births Abruptions VBAC's Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations Preferred Level I/Screening (viability) Level II/Targeted (anatomic) Surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronic tubation, Operative/major (includes diagnostic) - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's, Stage III/IV endometriosis, A&P repair, vaginal hysterectomy, abdominal hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, resection of uterine septum, ablation, myomectomy, uterine suspension) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Certified required Licenses: Licensed in WA or Universal License (IMLC) Certifications: BLS Fellowship: Preferred Experience: Experience in high‑acuity Obstetrics & Gynecology preferred Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR, ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24‑hour in‑house call coverage for the OB/GYN department Manage emergent gynecological and obstetric cases presenting to the Emergency Department Perform a broad range of procedures including hysterectomy, ectopic pregnancy management, D&C, ovarian cystectomy, hysteroscopy, IUD insertions, abscess drainage, post‑hysterectomy complication management, and exploratory laparotomy Collaborate with hospital midwives (5) to coordinate labor and delivery care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
