Job Overview • Job Title: Physician – Vascular Surgeon • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Saranac Lake, New York • Service Setting: Hospital / Clinic • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: July 3, 2026 – July 25, 2026 (Potential for Extension) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (dependent on OR and clinic schedule) • On-Call Schedule: 1–3 calls per week; Weekend Call 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM • Call Type: Post-operative coverage and patient management • Schedule Type: Flexible Schedule Patient Information • Patient Demographics: Adult and Geriatric • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 16–18 patients per day • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Weekend rounding may be required depending on inpatient census • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Bread-and-butter vascular surgery cases, endovascular procedures, hybrid room procedures, no open AAA cases Facility Information • EMR System: Meditech (Hospital) and eClinicalWorks (Clinic) • Support Staff Available: 2 APPs • Physician Coverage: Solo coverage • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental locum coverage Privileges & Compliance • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary/Expedited Privileges Available: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Expedited credentialing available • Additional Credentialing Requirements: • Active New York State medical license required • Clean background required for expedited privileges and credentialing Compensation & Benefits • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered Required Procedures • Full scope vascular surgery procedures • Endovascular procedures • Hybrid room procedures • Post-operative vascular management • No open AAA procedures required Job Requirements • Degree Required: MD • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 2 years • Board Certification Type: • ABS in Vascular Surgery or SVS required • ABVLM preferred • Licensure: Active New York State license required • Certifications Required: ACLS • Telehealth Experience: Not required • Experience: Prior vascular surgery and endovascular procedure experience required Duties & Responsibilities • Provide inpatient and outpatient vascular surgery coverage • Perform vascular and endovascular surgical procedures • Manage post-operative patient care and complications • Participate in light call coverage and weekend call rotation • Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary care teams • Document patient encounters and procedures within Meditech and eClinicalWorks EMR systems • Provide weekend rounding as needed based on patient census
