POSITION OVERVIEW
The Internal Medicine Consultant provides comprehensive, patient-centered medical care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. This role requires clinical excellence, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to evidence-based medicine. The physician will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive primary care to adult patients in outpatient, inpatient, or combined settings (depending on practice model).
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and complex medical conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on current clinical guidelines.
- Perform routine procedures as appropriate to internal medicine practice.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide follow-up care and respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Eligibility for licensure through the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience in outpatient primary care, hospital medicine, or both.
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
