Job Overview Summary
This role supports Advarra Data Initiatives by improving the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and usability of key data sets across business systems. The Data Quality & Stewardship Analyst is responsible for evaluating robust data sets, identifying missing or inconsistent data elements, investigating root causes, and performing hands-on data remediation in approved source systems and workflows.
In this role, the Analyst will match, reconcile, and validate disparate data sets, document data quality findings, and partner with business and technical stakeholders to maintain trusted, fit-for-purpose data. The right candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently through ambiguous data questions, and able to apply repeatable processes to drive measurable improvements in data quality and completeness.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate data sets for completeness, accuracy, duplication, consistency, and alignment to defined business rules.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, outdated, or conflicting data elements and complete or correct records in approved systems and workflows.
- Match, merge, reconcile, and validate data across disparate systems or sources using defined logic and investigative analysis.
- Perform data profiling and quality checks using tools such as SQL, Excel, Power Query, or other data management tools.
- Document data issues, remediation steps, matching logic, assumptions, and repeatable quality-control procedures.
- Partner with Data Initiatives, business operations, technology, and analytics teams to understand data definitions, source systems, and quality expectations.
- Escalate systemic data gaps, process defects, or system constraints that prevent data completeness or quality.
- Manage assigned data quality activities independently, communicate progress, and support quality metrics, scorecards, or exception reporting.
Location
This role is open to candidates working in Bengaluru, India (hybrid).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in data quality, data stewardship, data operations, data analysis, business operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating, cleaning, reconciling, or maintaining business data across systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL or other query/reporting tools to extract, compare, and validate data.
- Ability to interpret data dictionaries, business rules, source system fields, or process documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine appropriate remediation paths.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to work independently, manage repetitive and investigative data tasks, and prioritize competing requests.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to document findings and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, data structures, and business terminology.
- Competencies: attention to detail, accountability, adaptability, curiosity, process discipline, and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CRM, CTMS, eClinical, clinical research, healthcare, or regulated industry data.
- Experience with data matching, de-duplication, master data management, or data governance practices.
- Familiarity with BI or data tools such as Power Query, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R.
- Experience creating or maintaining data quality rules, exception reports, dashboards, scorecards, or relevant certifications.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
- Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
- Learn and comprehend basic instructions
- Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
- Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking
