What We Offer
~1 min readCoordinates all programs related to the transportation department. Facilitates incoming transporter calls to assign, update, and review calls. Manages the routing of transporters to maximize efficiency and ensure the appropriate equipment is used. Maintains minimal dispatch time for campus assignments throughout the shift as set by the management team. Regularly meets with customers to discuss and improve customer service. Takes charge and responds appropriately to unexpected situations. Uses correct tone of voice, stance, and non-defensive/offensive language in all communications. Maintains positive relationships by appropriately communicating information. Promotes and contributes positively to inter-departmental relationships. Supports and practices the philosophy of Share (Sense, Help, Acknowledge, Respect, and Explain). Utilizes knowledge and practices hospital organization policies, procedures, and mission. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• People Skills: Ability to understand customers’ needs and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner [Required]
• Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak appropriately in English using good diction, and respond to people’s needs in a pleasant and courteous way as perceived by the customer [Required]
• Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs. For cost center 9623 must be able to type at least 20 wpm [Required]
• Ability to input data in a timely manner [Preferred]
• Management potential, and ability to accept responsibility, exercise authority, and function independently using effective written and verbal communications [Preferred]
• Ability to work well with others, using tact and diplomacy [Preferred]
• Ability to accept direction and respond to ever-changing matrix of Hospital needs [Preferred]
• Ability to use discretion when discussing confidential personnel related issues [Preferred]
• Ability to assign and set priorities for the numerous Transportation and Environmental Service activities of all patients, from infant to geriatric age [Preferred]
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient and departmental information with no infractions [Preferred]
• Familiar with Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word etc) [Preferred]
• Ability to develop strategies to improve the department (i.e. cost, KQI) [Preferred]
• Ability to generate and manipulate Crystal reports for tracking software [Preferred]
• Exceptional communications skills to work with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups [Required]
• Excellent customer service skills required and ability to exemplify the Service Standards [Required]
• Must be able to use computer for patient information and basic department clerical functions [Required]
• Ability to lead a team, coach for improvement and recognize positive behavior [Required]
