Responsibilities

  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Reviews open customer orders and backorders to efficiently meet the customer shipping schedule and satisfy the requested ship dates
  • Communicates with customer service to assure timely fulfillment of orders
  • Assigns and monitors sales orders to ensure on-time shipments
  • Communicates accurate order/shipment/export details regarding status of shipments to Customer Service
  • Ensures the product quality and items are being fulfilled per order and the correct shipping methods are being adhered to
  • Works with Shipping Supervisor as a liaison between staff and management to relay information
  • Ensures all safety guidelines are followed within the work area to prevent incidents
  • Actively takes steps to maintain morale
  • Demonstrates the ability and desire to lead and develop operators in a fair and ethical way and at the same time maintains focus on the best interests of the company and customers
  • Demonstrates good communication skills through continuous interaction with operators, fellow coordinators, supervisors, etc.
  • Closely monitors and seeks to improve on-time daily shipments
  • Monitors the workload in their area ensuring priority and on-time shipping needs are met; tracks and reports any outages that may impact customers
  • Works with Shipping Supervisor to provide guidance to associates within the Shipping/Receiving area to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order processing
  • Ensures all packages are picked up by the appropriate shipping service and the warehouse is secured after pickup
  • Actively participates in cross-functional root cause and corrective action analysis to resolve customer related or internal shipping issues
  • Identifies areas for continuous improvement opportunities for efficiency gains and quality improvements
  • Continually seeks to improve areas of productivity, quality, safety, communication, and morale
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Material Management or equivalent with five years’ experience in manufacturing shipping environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and ERP
  • Experience with international shipping and customs requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must have proficient knowledge in small parcel shipping
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
  • Must be able to stand/walk/sit for up to 8-10 hours per day
  • Must be able to use a computer for up to 8-10 hours per day
