Job Title: Jira/Confluence Systems Administrator
Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL – 100% On-Site Support
Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret 
Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+)
The Jira/Confluence Systems Administrator will be responsible for the management, configuration, and maintenance of our Jira and Confluence environments. This role is pivotal in supporting our engineering, operations, and program management teams by optimizing workflows, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing collaboration across the Department of War (DoW). The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Atlassian products, experience in a DoD or government setting, and a commitment to mission success
 
Key Responsibilities Jira Administration
  • Workflow and Project Management: Design, configure, and maintain complex Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, and dashboards to align with program requirements and Agile methodologies.
  • User and Access Control: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings to ensure appropriate access levels and data security. 
  • System Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to ensure the stability and efficiency of the Jira environment. 
  • Integrations: Manage and optimize integrations with external plugins and applications, such as GitLab, and other DevOps tools. Confluence Administration 
  • Content and Space Management: Administer Confluence spaces, including permissions, templates, and content organization, to facilitate effective knowledge management and collaboration. 
  • User Support: Provide ongoing support and training to users, including the creation and maintenance of documentation and best practice guides. 
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that Confluence spaces adhere to organizational standards for governance, access control, and security. Cybersecurity and Compliance 
  • System Hardening: Implement and maintain system configurations in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). 
  • Vulnerability Management: Utilize the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to scan systems for vulnerabilities, analyze scan results, and manage remediation efforts. 
  • Cyber Configuration: Oversee the cyber configuration of the Jira/Confluence systems to ensure they meet all DoD cybersecurity requirements and maintain a strong security posture. 
  • Technical Skills: 
     
  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Jira/Confluence Administrator, with a preference for experience in a DoD or federal government environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Jira and Confluence administration, including workflows, schemes, and permissions.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python, Bash) for automation and customization. 
  • Demonstrated experience with ACAS and applying STIGs to enterprise applications. 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). 
  • Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+). 
  •  
  • Atlassian Certification: Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-JA) or other relevant certifications.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with Atlassian Cloud, including migrations and hybrid environment support. 
  • DoD Experience: Experience working within a System Program Office (SPO) or Program Mnagement Office (PMO) in the DoD. 
  •  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Working for a DoD Government Contract. 100% Onsite required. Teaming required.
