Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Analyst to support our global operations by accurately determining the costs of services across multiple countries. This role involves calculating service costs, setting competitive selling prices, managing service project budgets, and ensuring accurate data utilization for pricing models. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive requests efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Costing & Pricing:
- Calculate service costs for various countries, considering factors such as special pricing requests, discount structures, and different service grids or analyses.
- Develop accurate cost assumptions and determine selling prices by adjusting gross profit (GP) in consultation with the line manager.
- Respond to and manage ad hoc pricing requests from different stakeholders.
Project Costing & Budgeting:
- Provide support in terms of project planning and costing to projects in regions such as Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and South America
- Determine resource requirements per project and ensure all associated costs (e.g., flights, accommodation, vehicle hire, food, salaries) are covered.
- Establish project pricing by incorporating costs and adjusting GP in consultation with the line manager.
Supplier & Laboratory Coordination:
- Communicate with laboratories to obtain pricing for tests required in the services offered.
- Ensure laboratory costs are accurately incorporated into pricing models.
Data Analysis & Costing Models:
- Utilize data from company project database and other sources to verify the accuracy of assumptions used in costing models.
- Manipulate and analyze data to extract key insights for refining cost estimates.
Time & Workflow Management:
- Manage ad hoc tasks and pricing requests from various internal stakeholders, often under tight deadlines.
- Prioritize tasks effectively while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Keep track of all ongoing work and adjust workflow to meet business needs.
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Finance degree
- 1 to 3 years’ experience as an Accountant, specifically Cost Accounting experience
- Candidates without the above qualifications but with relevant costing or cost accounting experience will also be considered
- Experience in pricing, costing, business analysis, or a similar role is advantageous
- Prior experience in an international business environment is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and other relevant data tools.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple urgent tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing).
