The  Process Operator position is a hands-on role that will provide technical services to the Production, Process Engineering, and Product Development departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Process Technician with starting micro-reactor experiments and recording data daily for the experiment. It is an ideal position for an individual searching for a career opportunity to gain experience in a laboratory and manufacturing environment in a dynamic and rapidly growing agricultural company.


Main Responsibilities

  • Setting up, starting, shutting down, and cleaning Micro Reactor Systems.
  • Regularly checking process indicators and software interfaces to monitor parameters like temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
  • Collecting data daily for the duration of the experiments.
  • Preparation of samples for further analysis at other in-house or external labs.
  • Accurately recording operational data, production yields, and maintenance logs manually or via computer systems for Process Technology Centre (PTC) activity.
  • Assisting with production support activities when required.
  • Performing quality control and maintenance on PTC equipment.
  • Adhering to stringent safety protocols and wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance (e.g., lubrication, cleaning) and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements


Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Science as subjects
  • Working towards a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering will be advantageous


Experience

  • Proven experience in Pilot Plant Operations
  • Familiarity with process control systems (like PLC or DCS) and mechanical systems will be advantageous


Other specific requirements

  • Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
  • Computer literate
  • Medically fit to do manual labour when necessary
  • Must be willing to work flexible shifts
  • Own transport
