About the Role:

This role supports the HBB and Enterprise business units by planning and delivering tailored FTTX solutions, working closely with both internal teams and customers to ensure effective outcomes. It focuses on providing flexible, cost-efficient designs and managing end-to-end network delivery.

In addition to this, it is accountable for FTTX project execution, including transmission and IP planning, network performance, and overall service delivery, while ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue realization.

End to End Solution Planning and Design for FTTX

  • Designing and developing fiber optic systems and networks.
  • Conducting site surveys to determine the best installation paths and techniques.
  • Creating detailed schematics for fiber optic systems, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specifications.
  • Supervising the installation of fiber systems and ensuring proper alignment, signal strength, and data transfer rates.
  • Performing regular tests and maintenance on fibers, systems, and associated equipment to minimize downtime and loss of data.
  • Updating and maintaining project documentation and system records.
  • Training technical staff and users when necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying field problems and responding to network outages quickly.

Fiber Network Design & Planning

  • Planning and designing the expansion of the existing fiber network to improve resilience.
  • Designing and planning last-mile fiber networks for Enterprise, multitenant, and gated estate deployments.
  • Preparing project plans and continuously monitoring and tracking the progress of fiber projects to ensure quality delivery.

Reporting, Inventory Management, Material Planning and NOC support

  • Preparing and presenting technical reports on enterprise project delivery performance and network availability. 
  • Ensuring zero stock-out of relevant equipment at all times. 
  • Minimizing wastage while managing restocking activities, including facilitating timely budget approvals and purchase orders. 
  • Maintaining regular inventory reporting as required. 
  • Providing full operational support and collaborating with ENOC to ensure high network availability and excellent customer experience.

Good Technical and Regulatory Knowledge within Telecommunication Industry

  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of transmission technologies, including fiber networks, DWDM, FTTX/GPON, MPLS, and data communications. 
  • Maintaining strong understanding of local regulatory requirements related to frequency spectrum applications and usage. 
  • Providing high-level support to the operations team to enable quick issue resolution and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
  • Continuously monitoring network KPIs to ensure reliability aligns with planned performance levels.

Educational Qualifications  

  • 1st degree in Engineering or Information Technology
  •  A professional qualification of PMP, NSE, COREN is desirable

Relevant Experience & Functional / Technical Skills

  • At least 10 years relevant experience in FTTX planning, Implementation and Operations of FTTX domain
  • In-depth knowledge of technologies like, Fiber networks, FTTX/GPON,  IP, etc
  • Sound knowledge of FTTx Network  - Planning & Operations
  • Analytical and Presentation skills
  • Strategic negotiation skills
  • Excellent IP and routing knowledge in an ISP environment. 
  • General knowledge of telecom industry and standards
