School of Arts and Sciences Profile 

 The School of Arts and Sciences at the American International University in Kuwait comprises disciplines in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature, Humanities, and Education.

 

The school offers a broad interdisciplinary foundation in the natural sciences, mathematics, humanities, and education, equipping students with critical thinking, analytical, communication, and research skills essential for academic and professional success. 

 

Scope of Work  

The Mathematics Faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Mathematics and related disciplines, supporting student learning and academic success, and contributing to the continuous improvement of academic programs. The faculty member actively participates in curriculum development, assessment activities, scholarly engagement, and university service, while fostering an inclusive and intellectually stimulating learning environment. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across disciplines, mentoring students, and supporting the mission and strategic objectives of the American International University through excellence in teaching, research, and professional service.



Job Purpose

American International University (AIU) invites applications for qualified Mathematics Faculty to join its teaching pool and be considered for full-time teaching opportunities. A pool members may be contacted to teach introductory, general education, or selected major courses depending on departmental needs and individual qualifications. Full Time Faculty contributes to AIU’s mission by teaching undergraduate courses and mentoring students in a collaborative and innovative learning environment.

 

Position Overview: 

Full-time faculty members are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction within their respective disciplines, contributing to curriculum and course development, and fostering the academic, intellectual, and professional growth of AIU students. Faculty members are also expected to participate actively in scholarly, research, and service activities that support the University's mission, strategic objectives, and commitment to academic excellence.


Qualifications

  • Earned Ph.D. in Mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • Prior university-level teaching experience in Mathematics or related subject areas.
  • Ability to contribute effectively to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Strong commitment to academic excellence and high-quality instruction, with a demonstrated ability to foster student learning and engagement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English, with strong communication and presentation skills.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics and related subject areas in accordance with the University's academic standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Develop, update, and deliver course materials, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, examinations, and other instructional resources.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic success and achievement.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Math department.
  • Engage in scholarly, research, and professional development activities that contribute to the advancement of discipline and the University's academic mission.
  • Contribute to departmental, school, and university committees, meetings, and service activities as required.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and intellectually stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and academic projects.
  • Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Math department head or the school dean.
