Forklift Operator - MIP (3rd Shift)

The Forklift Operator loads and unloads tractor trailers, ensuring correct reporting of what is loaded on the trailer.  

• →Drive forklift to load and unload tractor trailers  

• →Maintain housekeeping & 3R5S environment  

• →Follow Mobis handbook guidelines and other policies established by department  

• →Read and/or enter data through computer with accuracy  

• →Promote a team atmosphere  

• →Assist with creation and completion of improvement and/or cost reduction ideas   

• →Accurately Complete check sheets, reports, forms, etc. as assigned  

• →Monitor inventory status of customer to avoid part shortage and/or downtime   

• →Comply with all safety rules and guidance, as well as report all recognized hazards  

• →Prompt, regular, predictable attendance  

• →Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours   

• →Overtime and weekend work as required  

• →Required to work with, handle, store, or otherwise manage hazardous materials, and must comply with all applicable regulations established by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).   

• →Responsibilities include ensuring safe and compliant management of hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.   

• →May be required to participate in training for handling of hazardous materials.   

• →All other duties as assigned

This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required  

• High school diploma or equivalent 

• 1-3 years of experience operating a Forklift 

• Basic reading and computer skills   

• Forklift certification must be obtained through Mobis’ forklift licensing program  

• 100% of work performed on production floor (standing and/or forklift)  

• Ability to lift 55 lbs repeatedly.  

• Pushing with force up to 75 pounds.  

• Traversing around the production floor to complete inventories and judge needed repairs
