POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager and Finishing Team Leader, the position performs a variety of fabric finishing functions. These duties include but are not limited to examining fabric or products for conformity to quality standards, marking defects, repairing minor defects if possible, and completing all ERP entries. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.


This role has been created to cover a current vacancy within the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Examines fabric or products for conformity to quality standards.
  • Sets-up cutting knives as per work order.
  • Marks defects on fabric and records it on production sheet.
  • Measures or weighs finished product by placing the rolls on the scale and measuring them with a standard tape measure.
  • Inspects every meter of the fabric, flags defects and takes samples for the Quality Control Department.
  • Records information on a production sheet and the ERP system (such as length, width, weight, defects, etc).
  • Assists in the preliminary packaging of products.
  • Ensures a safe environment at all times while using proper PPE.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintains client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
  • Sets-up and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
  • Experience in a factory setting is an asset
  • Experience working within an ERP system; scanning work orders, entering work order data.
