Aleut is seeking a qualified and experienced Space Operations Instructor/Curriculum Developer/Task Lead to support the 55th Training Squadron (55 TRS).  In this role, the Instructor/Curriculum Developer will support the Space Component Staff Course (SCSC), which prepares combat-ready Guardians to integrate and synchronize space capabilities across joint and all-domain operations.  This position plays a critical role in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of courseware designed to support operational and tactical Command and Control (C2) echelons across Combatant Commands.  The SCSC is delivered seven times annually, supporting approximately 210 students each year, with projected growth aligned with continued service expansion.

  • Develop, maintain, and update SCSC curriculum in accordance with ISD principles (AFI 36-2602, AFMAN 36-2234, AFH 36-2235).
  • Tailor courseware from the C2 Warrior Advanced Course (C2WAC) baseline to support joint planning and operational C2.
  • Integrate Joint Publications (JP 1, 3, 5, 3-14) and USSF doctrine (SFDD-1, Space Warfighting Framework).
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional aids, syllabi, visual presentations, student materials, grading rubrics, and capstone exercises.
  • Task Lead: Interacts with Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), responsible for day-to-day administration of project team and tasks.  Facilitates resolution of payroll, time keeping, HR, IT, safety, and security related issues.  Approves timesheets, expense reports, and paid time off (PTO).
  • Create and maintain multiple versions of tests, quizzes, and evaluation tools.
  • Conduct annual courseware reviews and ensure compliance with ISD standards.
  • Deliver up to 40 hours of instruction per course, per performance period.
  • Teach SCSC seven times per year (approximately 30 students per class).
  • Instruct topics including:
  • Space battle management
    • Command and Control (C2) principles
    • Joint planning processes
    • COMREL and mission command
    • B2C2WGs and battle rhythms
    • Authorities and tasking of space assets (SATCOM, EW, TacSRT, SBST)
  • Utilize modern instructional technology and multimedia tools.
  • Participate in all planning, execution, and post-course review meetings.
  • Provide Hot Wash feedback and contribute to After-Action Reports.
  • Review student critiques and recommend course improvements.
  • Notify leadership of student deficiencies or unprofessional conduct.
  • Support instructor certification/decertification recommendations.
  • Conduct ongoing courseware evaluation aligned with ISD processes.
  • Analyze student performance data and recommend curriculum adjustments.
  • Support special academic projects and educational initiatives.
  • Participate in recurring instructor training events.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in curriculum development and classroom instruction
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in space operations, including:
    • Space battle management
    • Command and Control (C2) principles
    • Joint planning concepts
  • Active or current Top-Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required.
  • Experience supporting joint or Service component staffs
  • Familiarity with USSF doctrine and STARCOM training guidance
  • Experience with operational-level planning processes
  • Ability to translate complex operational concepts into instructional content
  • Completion of an Air Force Instructor Course or equivalent Joint Service or civilian course/degree
  • Master’s Degree in business, technical, or space-related field
  • 12 years’ work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years work experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree
