Welder

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

• →Practice and promote a safe work environment throughout the entire facility
• →Read and interpret customer blueprint specifications to understand product requirements
• →Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• →Set up components for welding according to order specifications
• →Weld components efficiently and safely using various welding equipment
  • →Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
• →Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system
• →Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department key measures
• →Ensure all quality practices are being followed accurately and efficiently
• →Communicate Alexandria Industries’ requirements and capabilities with vendors and customers
• →Read and analyze customer blueprint specifications to understand product requirements
• →Use necessary measurement equipment to test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to ensure that parts extruded meet customer specifications
• →Conduct simple repairs on equipment and machinery as needed
• →Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment in order to ensure safety, quality and efficiency
• →De-bur and grind components as needed to achieve precise surface texture
• →Load and unload trucks in the most cost efficient way for deliveries and shipments

1. Education:
   • High School diploma or equivalent degree
2. Experience:
   • 3-5years of Aluminum TIG and MIG welding experience preferred
3. Licensing Required: None
4. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
   • Ability to obtain welding certifications as needed
   • Ability to recognize safety concerns
   • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated area
   • A highly motivated self-starter
   • Strong coordination and judgment skills
   • Basic math skills
   • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts and surface finish according to customer specifications
   • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
   • Ability to take part in additional training as needed
   • Ability to perform and assist with preventive maintenance
   • Strong communication skills, problem solver, multi-tasker
   • Ability to properly identify materials
   • Strong attention to detail
   • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
