Cafeteria Supervisor

Overview To supervise all activities and employees of the cafeteria and ensure all MDI customer service standards, sales plans, and departmental operations are maintained in and for the cafeteria.

Should possess good interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs consistently. Ability to read and understand information and follow directions. Possess knowledge and experience with cafeteria operations.
To supervise all activities and employees of the cafeteria and ensure all MDI customer service standards, sales plans,
and departmental operations are maintained in and for the cafeteria. To engage in preparation, serving, clean-up,ordering, supervising and other necessary tasks for the operation of the MDI Cafeteria.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Ensures all customers receive polite and friendly service from the cafeteria staff.
- →Works with HR Mgr to achieve budgeted sales and gross profits for the cafeteria.
- →Maintains controlled level of inventory and supplies for the cafeteria and ensures product quality.
- →Manages the cafeteria according to guidelines and programs set by the HR department.
- →Must be able to work a flexible rotating schedule (1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts) as well as fill in on weekends when necessary.
- →Enforces MDI safety and sanitation standards in the cafeteria.
- →Provides guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to all cafeteria employees to ensure achievement of performance standards. Verifies attendance records and adherence of staff to all company policies and performs progressive disciplinary action when deemed necessary.
- →Peforms product preparation, receiving, stocking, and customer service as necessary to achieve and maintain standards.
- →Responsible for overseeing cash flow, register reconciliations, deposits and invoicing.
- →Organize and plan special departmental and company wide catered events.
- →Ensures equipment is maintained and cleaned properly.
- →Perfoms all other duties as assigned by management.
- →Preparation of food, drinks, etc.
- →Serving- during breakfast/lunch/dinner-as needed.
- →Clean-up including washing dishes, mopping, etc.
- →Must be able to lift to 25lbs.
- →May be required to perform other tasks, as necessary.
- →Must be able to lead and supervise a team
- →Understand Food Safety
Requirements

- Possess knowledge and experience with cafeteria operations.
- Ability to supervise, train, and develop people for efficient cafeteria operations.
- Must have prior experience in food industry (cafeteria, banquet, restaurant, etc). Cashier experience preferred. Must be courteous, friendly and customer focused.
- Must be a self-starter and hardworking.
- Have clean appearance and dress neatly.
- Works well with others- a team player.
