As a School Counselor at LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with special needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you implement evidence-based interventions that promote students' participation and success in their educational environment.

You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. You provide individualized guidance and support to help students navigate academic challenges, career planning, and personal issues.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• →Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
• →Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that align with students' needs and school goals.
• →Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success and well-being.
• →Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic goals for their future education and careers.
• →Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
• →Facilitate workshops and classroom lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, social emotional skills and college readiness.
• →Advocate for students' needs at IEP meetings and other student-focused discussions.
• →Refer families and students to external mental health resources when necessary.
• →Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
• →Stay current with best practices in school counseling through ongoing professional development.

• Master's degree in school counseling from an accredited program
• Maintain state license/certification 
• School experience preferred
• Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card
