As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) at LEARN Academy you play a vital role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with communication needs. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you assist in implementing evidence-based interventions that enhance students' communication skills and success in their educational environment.
You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. You support the IEP process by planning and implementing treatment plans, documenting response to therapeutic intervention, and monitoring progress toward individualized education program (IEP) goals.

- →Assist the SLP in conducting speech and language screenings using established protocols without interpretation.
- →Implement speech and language therapy activities designed by the SLP that align with students' IEP goals and educational needs.
- →Collaborate with classroom teachers to support the integration of speech and language strategies into the educational curriculum.
- →Prepare therapy materials and equipment for use in classroom and therapy activities as determined by student needs.
- →Document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report this information to the supervising SLP.
- →Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
- →Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based speech-language pathology.
- →Assist in organizing classroom activities by preparing educational materials and creating an orderly learning environment.
- →Support early intervening services by participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives under SLP guidance
- →Use assistive technology devices for communication as directed by the SLP.

Requirements

- Maintain license per ASHA requirements
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card
