The Waterworks Division is seeking a dedicated candidate for the role of Estimator. This position plays a critical role in preparing precise estimates for public and private water and wastewater treatment projects, including sewer lift stations, water booster pump stations, tank sites, and small water treatment plants.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to develop accurate material scopes and strategic pricing.
- Ensure timely and competitive bid submissions.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including sewer lift stations, water booster pump stations, tank sites, and small treatment facilities.
- →Source and evaluate manufacturer quotes, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
- →Maintain organized and up-to-date project data using tools such as Smartsheet for efficient tracking and reporting.
- →Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients to gather market insights and foster trust.
- →Collaborate with vendor partners to secure competitive pricing and stay informed on current market trends and conditions.
- →Actively participate in internal sales meetings to discuss bidding strategies, pricing approaches, and client account needs.
Requirements
~2 min read- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification is a plus.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans and perform precise material take-offs.
- Strong knowledge of waterworks materials, applications, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PDF tools); experience with PlanSwift or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated accountability, integrity, strong work ethic, and a customer-centric approach.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, maintaining focus, productivity, and accountability without direct supervision.
- Internal Candidates on a Performance Improvement Plan or who have a written warning in the last year will not be eligible.
