Technical Support Specialist, HVAC

PACE Supply is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Technical Support Specialist – HVAC to serve as a trusted technical advisor for our branch teams, contractors, and customers. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on HVAC equipment, system applications, controls, troubleshooting, and product selection, helping customers solve complex challenges while supporting sales growth and operational excellence.

As the HVAC technical expert, you will work closely with internal teams and industry professionals to deliver solutions that improve system performance, increase customer satisfaction, and strengthen long-term customer relationships. • →Provide advanced technical support for residential and commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and controls.
• →Assist branch teams, contractors, and customers with product selection, system design considerations, startup guidance, and troubleshooting.
• →Diagnose technical issues and recommend effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize system performance.
• →Support sales initiatives by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate products and solutions.
• →Deliver product training and technical education to internal teams and customers.
• →Partner with manufacturers and vendors to stay current on new technologies, product updates, and industry best practices.
• →Serve as a subject matter expert on HVAC applications, codes, and industry standards.

Technical Support & Customer Assistance

• →Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for HVAC equipment, controls, and related systems.
• →Assist contractors, internal sales teams, and branch staff with product selection, application questions, and system design considerations.
• →Diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions, parts, or system adjustments.
• →Support start-up, commissioning, and warranty-related inquiries when needed.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

• →Conduct technical training sessions for internal teams and customers on HVAC products, new technologies, and best practices.
• →Develop and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
• →Stay current on manufacturer updates, product releases, and industry trends.

Sales & Branch Support

• →Partner with Inside and Outside Sales teams to support technical quoting and project opportunities.
• →Serve as a technical liaison between PACE Supply, manufacturers, and contractors.
• →Assist with complex projects, specifications, and system recommendations.

Operational & Administrative

• →Document technical inquiries and resolutions in internal systems.
• →Support warranty claims, product returns, and manufacturer coordination.
• →Travel to branches or job sites as needed to provide technical support.

Required:

• A combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify.
• 2 years of experience in HVAC technical support, service, installation, engineering, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, controls, and applications (commercial and/or residential).
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems in the field or in a technical advisory role.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.

Preferred:

• HVAC certifications (EPA 608, NATE, or manufacturer certifications).
• Experience working with HVAC distribution, contractors, or OEM manufacturers.
• Technical training or instructor experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
