~2 min readWarehouse/Class C Drivers are responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver goods and materials to designated locations while also supporting daily warehouse operations as needed. They are required to comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as adhere to company policies to ensure efficient and safe operations. Core duties include:
- →Route Planning: Strategically plan delivery routes, taking into account traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
- →Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- →Vehicle Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
- →Communication: Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules, adjust for changes, and provide updates as needed.
- →Documentation Management: Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- →Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to hours-of-service regulations, taking required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards and avoid fatigue-related risks.
- →Vehicle Security: Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
- →Maintenance Reporting: Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.
- →Vehicle Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.
- →Receives orders through supervisor from prepared and prioritized work tags.
- →Pulls orders from inventory, manually and/or utilizing forklift.
- →Prepares materials for delivery to and/or pick up by customers. Packs materials in boxes or on pallets (as appropriate), and labels accordingly.
- →Checks filled orders prior to delivery or pick up to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order.
- →Fills out a bill of lading for materials being delivered to customer.
- →Makes notation on invoice for materials pulled for customer pick up and places in file until customer signs it for their materials.
- →Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the workgroup.
- →Looks up part numbers, quantities, product locations, and customer information on the computer, as appropriate.
- →Refills shelves and racks from overstock, as needed. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a cooperative manner with customers, co-workers and managers.
Requirements
~1 min readA high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred, though a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance will qualify.
Must possess a valid Class C Hawaii Drivers License and be at least 21 years of age.
A driving record with no more than 3 points is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience operating commercial vehicles and/or relevant training. Prior delivery experience in wholesale or warehouse environments is strongly preferred.
Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not required.
Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
Solid knowledge of commercial driving laws and regulations, including safety procedures and accident protocols.
Physically capable of long driving hours and regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility for overtime as needed.
Basic proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Good organizational skills with the ability to group, sort, and sequence items effectively (e.g., by size, alphabetically, or numerically).

- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Environmental Conditions:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
