About your new role

We are looking for a Head Barista to lead the day-to-day coffee operations in our Southbank café. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll set and maintain the highest standards of coffee quality, while fostering a positive team culture that reflects the Allpress brand.

As the Head Barista, you’ll act as the coffee lead within the venue; driving quality and consistency across every shift, supporting barista development, and playing a key leadership role on the floor. You’ll also step into a supervisory capacity when the Café Manager is not present.

A day in the life

• Craft consistently high-quality coffee in a fast-paced environment, delivering every cup with care and a warm, genuine customer experience
• Maintain and manage stock levels, including daily replenishment and proactive ordering
• Take ownership of opening and closing procedures, ensuring all operations align with Allpress standards and SOPs
• Build strong relationships with customers, team members, and suppliers to create a welcoming and collaborative café environment

About you

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced service environment and has a genuine passion for coffee and people. You’ll be an experienced barista who leads by example and enjoys mentoring others, with a strong eye for detail and consistency. To be successful, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience as a senior or lead barista in a busy café environment
• Confidence in leading a team on shift and setting the pace of service
• Strong understanding of calibration, recipe consistency, and workflow management
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with your fellow baristas
• A calm, supportive leadership style and ability to mentor junior team members
• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional customer experiences
