Alpha’s Workday Practice sits within MCO and specializes in Workday implementation, optimization, solution health assessments, release readiness, and Application Management Services (AMS). The practice works closely with Alpha’s broader advisory, data, and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and provide continuity from strategy and design through implementation and ongoing support.

Lead technical delivery, integration architecture, and platform development across Workday engagements. The role combines hands-on technical development with client-facing architecture leadership and responsibility for secure, scalable integration landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Discovery & Technical Requirements: Lead and participate in discovery workshops with client project teams, technology leaders, and functional stakeholders. Document technical requirements, integration dependencies, security needs, non-functional requirements, and system constraints.
  • Integration Strategy & Architecture: Advise on integration strategy and develop technical architecture diagrams, system context diagrams, interface inventories, and end-to-end data flows across Workday and the broader enterprise ecosystem.
  • Technical Workstream Leadership: Own technical delivery plans and oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and stabilization of secure, high-performing Workday integrations.
  • Advanced Development: Design and develop complex integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, REST/SOAP APIs, and, where applicable, Workday Extend.
  • Data Pipeline Design: Design scalable technical pipelines to ingest and distribute data across upstream and downstream platforms, including high-volume operational and accounting data.
  • Enterprise Ecosystem Integration: Design solutions connecting Workday with treasury management systems, investment accounting and subledger platforms, payroll providers, banking platforms, data warehouses, reporting and analytics tools, and other enterprise applications.
  • Technical Governance: Establish standards for error handling, reconciliation, XSLT/XML transformation logic, integration security, authentication, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Client & CTO Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with client project teams, CTO organizations, enterprise architects, security teams, and third-party vendors. Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain technical design documents, interface specifications, architecture diagrams, data mappings, security requirements, deployment plans, and support documentation.
  • Innovation & Team Leadership: Stay current on Workday platform capabilities, integration technologies, AI-enabled delivery approaches, and financial services technology trends. Bring forward innovative, practical ideas and mentor technical resources.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical Workday implementation experience, including leadership of technical workstreams.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration security.
  • Strong XSLT, XML, API, error-handling, reconciliation, and data-transformation capabilities.
  • Experience producing technical architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and end-to-end data flows.
  • Familiarity integrating Workday with third-party financial services platforms such as investment subledgers, treasury systems, payroll providers, banking platforms, data warehouses, and reporting tools is strongly preferred.
  • Active Workday Creating and Securing Integrations, Workday Studio, and Workday Reporting certifications.
  • Workday Extend certification or substantive Extend project experience is a significant plus.

This position is US-based and primarily remote. Occasional travel to client sites and Alpha offices may be required based on project needs, key implementation milestones, and team collaboration.
